The Three Tests
There are three tests to take. Application for each test can only be made on successful completion of the previous test.
Theory
THE THEORY TEST PART ONE
This is a 100 question multiple choice test. You have a choice of four answers to each question only one of which is correct. All you do is to indicate which of the answers you think is correct. There isn't any writing to do, therefore if you have problems with spelling or grammar, you do not need to worry. The questions are on a wide range of subjects, not just the Highway Code. You must score a minimum of 85% to pass. You will also sit the hazard perception test at the same time. You will be shown 14 video clips, you are required to click on developing hazards you spot. You must score 57 out of a maximum of 75 marks to pass.Driving
THE DRIVING TEST PART TWO
This test requires a high standard of driving and lasts for one hour. You are tested on all types of road, including motorways, and are required to carry out several different set piece manoeuvres..Instructional Ability
THE TEST OF YOUR ABILITY TO INSTRUCT PART THREE
The examiner takes the role of a learner driver, and he / she tests you on your ability to teach them. The examiner can choose from many different topics and expects you to detect and correct any faults which occur, whilst at the same time ensuring learning takes place in a safe and friendly environment. The test once again will last one hour, BSOM specialise in the above area our pass rate is above 90%Trainee Licence
Unlike many other training organisations, we will offer you the choice to take advantage of a trainee licence.
This licence will last 6 months where you will get the opportunity to gain some real life experience by teaching pupils,
and gaining the experience you require before you sit your final test.
We can sponsor your licence, supply the pupils and manage your weekly diary so you don't have to worry about
the expense of advertising and loosing your valuable time. Remember "practice makes perfect".
ONCE QUALIFIED
Generally all driving instructors are in one way or another "self employed" either working completely
on their own or under a form of a franchise with a company.
We can assist you to be successful in a job placement either with us, with a local or national driving school, on a franchise basis. If you wish we can offer you business advice to help you start up with your own driving school. So we feel that we can offer you a wide range of choices when you qualify and we think it is absolutely imperative that you have freedom of choice. We are looking for driving instructors to work in our ever growing driving schools. This is often a very good way to beginning your career in the instructor industry and a route that a lot of new instructors prefer to take.
